About Aimee

I’m Aimee, owner and teacher at St Ives Yoga. After completing my undergraduate degree in Sports Coaching, I followed my dream of becoming a yoga teacher and have now practised yoga for over 13 years.

My practice has taken me around the world, exploring different styles and traditions including sound healing, Ayurveda, Traditional Thai Massage and Zen Thai Shiatsu. I’m forever a student and feel incredibly grateful for the teachers, experiences and friendships that have shaped my journey.

I look forward to sharing what I’ve learnt with you through my classes, workshops and special events, often collaborating with wonderful teachers and practitioners across movement, meditation, ecstatic dance and more.

I hope to see you on the mat soon. Namaste!

Ruth Susman

Qualifications: 200hr YTT in Vinyasa, Hatha & Restorative. 300hr YTT in Advanced Sequencing & Asana, History & Philosophy of Yoga, Zen Thai Shiatsu Assists, Pranayama, Meditation & Mantra.

My name is Ruth Susman and I have been teaching yoga for the last 10 years in Australia, Morocco and the UK. Yoga has been my guide for many years now. It found me at a time of desperation and changed my life. It is a practice that turns us inwards and shows us that everything we look for externally is already within us.

“After completing my first 200hr training, I felt compelled to share this gift that transformed my life, and to help others realise their own inner power and inner light. I have been teaching, studying and learning from the students in my classes ever since.”

Whatever your age, body shape or physical ability, there is a practice for everyone. I teach from an embodied place. Whether it’s a vinyasa, alignment or yin class, I encourage you to feel into your body in each pose, be curious, and discover which variation and alignment is right for you.

After many years of travelling, I am so excited to return to my home town of St Ives to share this beautiful practice and build a community and safe space with the wonderful Aimee Hall. A safe space for everyone.

“Come home to the safety of yourself.”

“I’ve just come back from a yoga retreat in Morocco organised and led by Ruth and I can honestly say it felt life changing!! Ruth is so knowledgeable about yoga, loves sharing her practice with you and is always looking for ways to help you develop and progress. Even as a relative novice, I felt totally safe and looked after in her hands and never felt intimidated. She is a real inspiration and you honestly just get the vibe that she wants to do whatever she can to help you become the best and happiest version of you. She’s so down to earth and dedicated and knows just the right mix of yoga moves to teach depending on how everyone is feeling. I learnt so much about not only yoga, but also about listening to my body and understanding how to calm my mind. I left with my heart full of gratitude and a renewed sense of purpose. Oh, and a new love of yoga!!”

“Practicing yoga with Ruth in Tamraght was a wonderful experience. From the first class, she made me feel comfortable, safe, and at ease with her warm energy and soothing voice. She listens and adapts each session to everyone’s needs, whether beginner or experienced. I loved how she connected movement with how I was feeling emotionally. Her flexibility and genuine kindness made every class special. I always left feeling grounded and refreshed. Highly recommend a class with Ruth!”

“ I love my Thursday morning yoga sessions with Aimee.. what makes Aimee special, apart from being passionate and great at practicing yoga, is that she embraces everyone in the class with her warmth, vitality to life and infectious smile. She makes you all feel ‘special’ and I walk out feeling happy and worthy (and a bit more flexible!!) from every class.”

— Sarah

“The most wonderful life changing experience. Ruth’s ability to share her passion and love of yoga in a calm and bespoke way is just beautiful. Ruth teaches to all levels, adapting along the way. This retreat has enabled me to refocus on what’s important, show gratitude, slow down and has ignited a love of being back on my mat. Thank you Ruth, I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience.”

My weekly visit to ‘Nirvana’ (aka Aimee’s yoga class!) is my spiritual and physical separation from the daily grind to a place of sanctuary. I only wish I had found this beautiful soul and her teachings twenty years ago.”
